Tanks or reservoirs tend to leak with time and use as they are not normally constructed in one piece. TECNOCOAT flexible systems allow interior waterproofing regardless of the type of material they are made of and the liquid they will hold (check compatibility in each case).
TECNOCOAT is also certified for food contact or drinking water, European certificate for the protection of structural concrete (EN-1504) and ETE certification for a useful life of 25 years.
The DESMOPOL DW waterproofing system based on polyurethane and TECNOCOAT P-2049 based on pure polyurea are accepted for use in situations of contact with water for human use, drinking water, tank and reservoir waterproofing. This specific industrial use as an internationally recognised waterproofing and protection system is possible thanks to the approval and certification under the British standard BS-6920 "non-metallic materials for use in products in contact with water for human consumption" and approved by WRAS. As well as the evaluation under the Royal Decree 140/2003 and its modification included in the Royal Decree 902/2018.

Construction or renovation of storage tanks
The application of TECNOCOAT membrane provides perfect waterproofing and protection for storage tanks, both metal and stone, designed for practically all purposes (irrigation or drinking water, alcohol, chemical products, food storage etc.).
1. Tank support
The surface should be initially prepared.
2. Primer
A primer resin will first be applied to ensure adhesion.

3. Waterproofing membrane
The TECNOCOAT membrane will then be applied directly over the primer. No additional finish coat will be required as TECNOCOAT holds a certificate for safe contact with both drinking water and alcohol.
